A Dementia Buddy is a volunteer who wants to make a positive difference to the lives of people living with dementia and/or their carer by providing a befriending service.
Volunteers are carefully chosen to have a good understanding of dementia and can engage effectively, in a kind, respectful and empathetic way. They receive full training and support to enable them to carry out their Buddy role effectively and are enhanced DBS checked so you can be assured that you will receive a safe service at all times. You, and/or your family, will be able to agree with your Buddy the kind of support you want.
