A new memory cafe will be starting from 20 September 2023.
The new memory cafe will be held at the Memorial Hall, Atherstone Leisure Complex, 12 Long Street, Atherstone, CV9 1AX.
The first session will be a marketplace event which will see a variety of organisations come together to offer advice and support. Organisations attending include Alzheimer's Society, Admiral Nurses, Social Prescriber, Memory Services, Carers Trust, North Warwickshire Borough Council, NHS, Fire, and Police.
This memory cafe is being held every Wednesday at 10.30am to 12.30pm. It offers a place where people can come together in a supporting and friendly environment with others with similar circumstances. By talking and finding out how others deal with things, people can better manage their own situations.
Every week, we will offer attendees different activities such as painting, singing and dancing to name a few. We will have regular Love to Move sessions using bilaterally asymetical movement patterns which are believed to improve cognition. We will also be supported by organisations and health care professionals on a regular basis.
