LAALO is a free, informal, people-friendly information and support programme for people looking after loved ones in the early stages of the dementia journey, regardless of the type diagnosed.
The purpose of the LAALO programme is to give you the information and support you need. We have guest speakers who cover all the questions you may have and also help you with your wellbeing so that you are better prepared for the journey ahead supporting your loved one.
During the programme you will:
- Learn about the different types of dementia
- Receive help with finance and legal issues
- Find out how reminiscence promotes wellbeing for your loved one
- Discover techniques for coping with stress
- Meet with social service representatives and others
The programme runs for two hours, one day a week, for six weeks. All we ask is that you make a commitment to attend as many sessions as you can. We supply coffee, tea, water and biscuits throughout the programme.
The programme is held at Bishopton Community Centre, Drayton Avenue, Bishopton, Stratford-on-Avon CV37 9PB.
