Invitation to Styx - theatre and music show about memory loss, music and family

The Assembly Festival runs arts events and festivals, usually at the Edinburgh Fringe. However, they are now in Coventry as part of the City of Culture events.

They have a garden venue in Coventry city centre with bars, food stalls and venues, and they are running an exciting programme of artistic work throughout the summer.

One particular show is Styx - a wonderful show mixing music, spoken word and theatre, and exploring how dementia, music and mythology combine. It’s also about love and family, and how these strands affect our relationships and communities. It’s been touring since 2018, and has received rave reviews from all over the world. You can find out more information about it here, or on their website here.

With its experience and story of memory loss and dementia, it’s a really personal show with many important themes, and so they wanted to invite local groups or departments in the area who may have particular links to the content of the show. If you would like to see the show or work with people who would like to see the show, tickets are available by following the links above. It is on at 9.10pm from Thursday 19th – Sunday 22nd August 2021.
