Singing for Wellbeing, Leamington Spa: A FREE course for adults
Warwickshire-based company Arts Uplift is delighted to announce Singing for Wellbeing, the latest initiative of Inside Stories, our long-running scheme promoting positive mental health through creativity.
Starting in May, Singing for Wellbeing is a series of 12 free weekly in-person workshops led by experienced choir leader Claire Fowler who will help participants to:
- Enjoy the therapeutic power of singing familiar songs together in a small and supportive group
- gain confidence in singing
- learn breathing and singing techniques
- gain a better understanding of how singing can improve wellbeing
There will be plenty of time for socialising and a chance to take part in an informal performance at the end.
Jenny Davis Executive Director of Arts Uplift says “We are thrilled to be able to run our popular singing workshops again. Claire is so good at creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and participants tell us time and time again how much joy they get from the sessions, and how even the least experienced singers grow in confidence. Singing together is such a mood booster.”
In partnership with the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy and funded by National Lottery Community Fund.
This course is aimed at anyone looking to find creative coping strategies for improving their mental wellbeing. Everyone is welcome, including complete beginners.
