The Phoenix Post Diagnosis Support Group offers social and emotional support to carers of those with dementia, and the patients themselves, giving them an opportunity to meet weekly to share experiences and support one another as they all travel the same pathway.
Meetings take place every Tuesday from 11am to 3pm. There is a small charge of £3 per person which covers a sandwich lunch, tea, coffee and biscuits. A varied programme of entertainment including music, keep fit, craft work and informative talks is offered each week as well as outings and lunches out. Importantly, friendships are born within the group so that members meet socially at other times during the week.
