Care Companion has been developed with carers to address their needs for information and guidance. It is available in Coventry and Warwickshire as a free, simple to use online resource for those who care for their loved ones, particularly older people with long term conditions and frailty (e.g. dementia). It is personalised to individual’s specific needs, and covers a vast range of information needs relevant to caring responsibilities.
Care Companion can be accessed directly at www.carecompanion.org.uk. They are also happy to visit organisations to present Care Companion to health and social care providers, third sector organisations and other support services as well as directly to carer groups. For further information please email email@example.com.
A new Care Companion research study is being launched. The research is evaluating the ways in which stakeholders adopt and promote the online resource. This will help them better understand what is needed to optimise and support wide uptake of Care Companion and similar types of services for unpaid carers.
They are asking people who have a patient or client-facing role in an organisation that has been introduced to Care Companion and considered its promotion, to take part in a short survey about the circumstances that may affect whether and how this is done.
They would also be grateful if you would consider participating in an optional interview about your views on Care Companion. The interview would last around 15 – 20 minutes and take place with a member of the study team either over the phone or via video link, at a time that is convenient to you.
It doesn’t matter whether or not you have actively encouraged any carer to register with Care Companion, they are still interested to hear from you. Your views are important and will help to improve the support and guidance that is offered to carers through Care Companion and other services.
You can find out more about the research and how you can get involved by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
