Dementia Action Week takes place from Monday 20th to Sunday 26th May 2019.

There are series of events and activities planned in Warwickshire as follows:

North Warwickshire and Nuneaton & Bedworth

Name of event: Dementia Information Event

Date: Tuesday 21st May 2019

Time: 10 – 12noon

Venue: White Hart House at the bottom of Long Street in Atherstone

Why come along? Find out about volunteering opportunities that benefit people with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society will be there talking about their Side By Side project and how volunteers are vital to its success. The White Hart will be showcasing their memory café and other services (such as arts and crafts, computer and job club), and will provide tea and cake for people who pop in.

Name of event:  Dementia Friendly Cinema – Wizard of Oz

Date:  Friday 24th May

Time: 11:30-3pm, The film will start shortly after 11:30am

Venue: Atherstone Memorial Hall, Long Street, Atherstone, CV9 1AX. Entrance to the event and all refreshments are free of charge.

Why come along? This cinema showing is open for everyone, particularly those living with or affected by dementia. The event is free and free teas, coffees and popcorn will be available throughout the day. All staff at the event will be dementia friends and dementia friends/dementia friendly communities’ information will be available throughout the event.

Name of event:  Living well with Dementia at George Eliot Hospital Stall

 Date:  Friday 24th May

Time: 12- 2pm all welcome to drop by

Venue: Outside Raveloe Restaurant, George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, College Street, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV10 7DJ

 Why come along? If you are in George Eliot this stall is for staff, patients, carers and visitors to share what is available at George Eliot Hospital, information about delirium prevention. We will also be joined by the South Warwickshire Dementia Navigator service to offer advice to people with dementia and their carers.

South Warwickshire
